Goal: To get fit again
"I was looking to get fit again and after trying many things, nothing was really clicking. That was until I tried CrossFit. June 30, 2014 was my first CrossFit workout and was a complete game changer for my life!
I began to look forward to the WODs and accomplishing new PRs.
Twenty months later, I am 80 pounds lighter and I'm still as passionate about CrossFit as I was from day one."
Background: Never particularly active
Goal: To get off the couch
"I never had a weight problem but, my age was beginning to show. I was feeling tired and old.
The first day was scary. The DCF staff kept telling me to keep going, 'you will be amazed at what you can do!' I did keep going, and they were right, I did amaze myself.
I am so very glad to be here with this group of people. They have made a positive change in my life. I still like my couch, but I work out first then enjoy it."
Background: Yo-yo dieter and scared to walk into a gym
Goal: To stop battling the scale
"I tried every excuse not to sign up for this boot camp thing I had been hearing all about. But after one of the coaches told me my bad knees and lack of activity, was not a problem, that they would work with me to get through it, I figured I had to let those excuses go.
I arrived a half hour early, sat in my car waiting for all of the young and muscular guys and girls to show up. But to my surprise, I saw middle-aged Moms and Dads, lean highschoolers and others who had a few too many pounds around their middle. They were just like me.
I walked in and found a group of people who not only welcomed me but told me how excited they were that I had come.
Seven months later I am down almost 100 pounds! I no longer wear jeans that are size 50..I'm in a size 38!"
