What Is CrossFit?
CrossFit training is a form of exercise based on functional movements. The main goal is core strengthening, along with breaking personal records and producing results. See our testimonials page! Imagine taking the best parts of weightlifting, rowing, gymnastics, running, aerobics, etc. and incorporating the movements into one condensed, fast-paced workout. That is CrossFit.
Am I Ready For CrossFit?
You would be surprised at the many different ability levels we have here at Declaration CrossFit. One of the great things about our workouts is they can always be modified to meet you where you are at in your fitness journey. We also have other options if you are not comfortable with jumping right into CrossFit classes.
The first option is to meet with one of our personal trainers to assess where you are physically. Our trainers are experts in their field and can help you decide where you should begin. Another option is to try our No Bar class. No Bar is geared more for beginners and those who are a little shy about weight training. This class teaches the fundamentals of CrossFit and gets you prepared to move forward.
Another option for any physical ability level is our fitness boot camp, World’s Best Boot Camp Summit. This is a 6 week program that is a great kick start for a new physical fitness regimen. WBBC Summit is also a fun change from Zumba, Pilates and other programs you might be used to following. What Is A CrossFit WOD?
WOD stands for “Workout of the Day.” Each WOD varies; constantly changing up the line-up of movements. That is why so many people love CrossFit and stick with it…it never gets boring! Another acronym that gets used a lot in CrossFit programs and CrossFit videos is PR. PR stands for “Personal Record” and is something we are always working toward at Declaration CrossFit. We strive to hit new PRs and encourage our gym members to do the same.
